"Where are you located?" - We are located in the beautiful Jemez mountains of northern New Mexico, about 1 1/2 hr north of Albuquerque. Deep in the Ponderosa forest, we enjoy the peaceful rural life!
"How do you house your dogs?" - All of our dogs are in the house with us! We have a dog room on the lower level of our house with a dog door to a large outdoor covered run and a fenced yard. It also includes a grooming room. However, they usually have run of the house during the day and accompany me from room to room as I go about my daily chores. At night they all sleep in our bedroom, some in kennels and some on the bed with us.
"Why do you ask so many questions about me?" - We are very concerned that our puppies go to the right homes for them and so need to get to know you a little bit to make sure that we are placing them appropriately. We don't ask personal questions, just the type that will help us be confident the pup is going to be loved as a permanent member of the family.
"Can I see the parents of my puppy?" - Photos of the parents are typically displayed on our "moms" and "sires" page. We are also happy to share more photos upon request. You are also welcome to see them in person if you would like to come and visit, and are usually present when you come to pick up the puppy.
"What health guarantees do you offer?" - Our guarantee can be seen on the "Contract and Guarantee" page.
"How old does my puppy have to be before he/she can come home to me?" -We want our puppies to gain as much valuable socializing time with their mom & siblings as possible, so we don't allow them to leave before they are 9 weeks old and sometimes not til 12 weeks, depending on the size of the puppies and how well they have weaned.
"Do you take deposits before a litter is born?" - We do have a paid waiting list to hold your spot in line to choose your puppy. See details on the "Upcoming Litters"page.
Is the deposit refundable should I change my mind about getting the puppy? - Deposits are non refundable except in situations where it is discovered that the puppy has a health problem or has died. In those cases you will be given the option to have the deposit refunded or transfer it to a different puppy.

Do you require a sales contract? - Yes, we have a sales contract, you can view it on the "Contract & Guarantee" page.
What forms of payment do you accept? - We accept postal or bank money orders, paypal on a case by case basis. All money must be received and cleared prior to shipping the puppy.
Why don't you post prices on your website? - We have ads in quite a few different places and if we decide to change the price on a pup it saves any confusion if one of the ads doesn't get updated right away. The average price range of our puppies varies according to quality, color & size, but is usually between $800-$2500.
Can I put a deposit on a puppy and make payments? - A deposit may be placed on a puppy and payments made up until 9 weeks. All money is due by the time the pup is 8 weeks old. If the puppy is older than 9 weeks when you choose it, all money is due upon commitment and before the pup can ship. It is not it the puppy's best interest to leave him/her here for weeks or months while the buyer makes payments, as they are missing out on valuable bonding/training time. If you can't afford to purchase a puppy right away simply save your money until you have enough to pay outright.
Do you offer refunds or will you take the puppy back? - Our contract states that if you cannot keep the puppy once it is in your possession it MUST be returned to us! We try hard to place our puppies in permanent homes, but understand that sometimes circumstances can occur that will require a pet to be rehomed, so we will take the puppy back, find a good home for it, and then return half of the amount that we are able to get for him/her to the original owner. This policy is important to us because we feel responsible for our puppies even after they leave our home, and so we want to do everything in our power to make sure that they have a great life.
Can we come and visit your puppies? - Young, unvaccinated puppies are very susceptible to germs that can be unknowingly brought into the house, as such we don't allow people to come and visit the younger puppies. Once they have have a couple of sets of shots it would be possible to visit them as long as they are not handled. Fully vaccinated puppies & older dogs may be met upon appointment.
Do you do any genetic testing on your dogs? - Our breeding dogs are all vet checked, tested for PRA-PRCD and knees are examined. Puppies receive a well check exam prior to leaving for their new homes.
What will I receive with my puppy? - Puppies come with AKC registration papers if the buyer has been approved for them, a document listing vaccination, deworming and other healthcare information, a well check exam sheet detailing the vet's findings when the pup was checked, a packet of food, a blankie that the pups have slept with that carries momma and sibling scents and a packet of information concerning feeding, training and grooming.
How do I reserve a puppy? - Simply send us an email telling us which puppy you are interested in and answer the questions on our puppy application. Once you have been approved to adopt the puppy then you will be able to send a non refundable deposit that will hold your puppy unit he/she is ready to join you.
How long have you been breeding poodles? - We have been breeding poodles for 10 years, prior to that we bred our dalmatians and have always been involved with raising birds.
Do you provide support after we receive the puppy? - We are ALWAYS available for help, support, as a resource and ALWAYS love photos and updates throughout the life of your puppy.
Are your puppies AKC registered?- We register our puppies with AKC on a case by case basis. Puppies that are sold as pets usually aren't registered unless the buyer requests it. Also, sometimes there is a puppy that is not breeding quality, and if that is the case they will be sold with limited registration papers and a spay/neuter contract.
Is a puppy cheaper if I don't want the registration papers? - No.
Is a puppy cheaper if I don't want the registration papers? - No.
"Do you show your dogs?" - We haven't yet had the opportunity to show our dogs ourselves since we specialize in the unusual colors and patterns that aren't allowed in an AKC show ring. We do have pups who have been shown UKC and have done very well, including one of our solid black miniature puppies who earned his UKC championship at 6 months, International Championship at 12 months, in the UKC top ten for 2017, and is now participating in the AKC show circuit.
"Will you potty train my puppy before it comes to me?" - We set up our puppy pen so that there is a specific potty area lined with washable potty pads. Training puppies to use this area helps them to learn that there is an appropriate place to potty other than their play/sleep area. This makes it easier for them to translate the concept to your home where they will be expected to potty outside rather than inside your house. We then send a list of potty training tips to help you teach the pup all about YOUR routine, YOUR rules and YOUR expectations.
For the older pups/adults, they are trained to use washable potty pads and the dog door. I don't guarantee that a dog will be 100% house trained...Dogs are creatures of habit and so if your home/rules/expectations are different from mine, it may take them a short while to adjust to the change. Potty training is also an important part of the puppy bonding to you and learning that you are the one in charge.
